Why We Built This
Most people don’t find out how their paycheck actually works until they see one land smaller than expected. A bonus gets taxed harder than planned. A new job offer looks bigger on paper than it turns out to be after NYC takes its cut. Nobody explains this clearly when you start a job, and most paycheck calculators online are either too generic or too complicated to actually answer the question in front of you.
We built NYC Paycheck Calculator to fix that. It’s a free tool that shows you exactly what a salary or hourly wage turns into after federal tax, FICA, New York State tax, and NYC’s own local tax, the layer that makes this city different from almost anywhere else in the country.
